Skip the initial office visit with Direct Access Screening Colonoscopy
For the convenience of our patients, we offer Direct Access Screening for Colon Cancer. This allows patients who qualify to bypass the initial office visit and make just one visit to our center for their procedure.
Colonoscopy is the most important test to detect colon cancer at an early stage or to prevent it in its entirety. When found early, colon cancer is 90% treatable. Beginning at age 50, patients should have a screening colonoscopy performed. In response to a rise in colon cancer rates among younger people, the American Cancer Society is now recommending that adults undergo screening for the disease beginning at age 45 rather than 50. African-Americans have a greater risk of colon cancer and should have a colonoscopy performed once they reach 45 years of age.
To begin the Direct Access Screening process, patients can:
• Call the office at 410-715-4655
• Click here to fill out and submit paperwork online
• Click here to email a request to be contacted by our staff
• Click here to print the Direct Access Screening Colonoscopy Packet. Return the completed packet to our office via fax, mail or in person.
Upon review of your medical information (10-14 days), patients who meet the medical criteria will be contacted to schedule their procedure at our endoscopy center.
